Since its founding as a local paint and hardware store in 1919, the United Coatings brand family of products was continually expanded upon to serve customers with field offices, technical service and representation on an international basis.

United Coatings began manufacturing paint in the 1920′s and expanded into specialty coatings in the 1950′s. As coatings technology evolved during the 1960′s, and expanded through the 70′s and 80′s, UNITED developed a wide range of high performance systems, including numerous elastomeric rubbers. The United Coatings product line continues to be a leader in the protective coatings market, supplying a full line of Roofing, Architectural and Industrial products.

The success of the United Coatings product line is based on a long tradition of solving difficult surface protection problems using a creative, in-depth research and marketing approach.

United Coatings was acquired by Quest Construction Products in 2007.
